The atrium’s function is to gather blood from other parts of the body and to then force the blood into the lower half or the ventricle chambers that in turn send the blood to your lungs and to the rest of the body.
Control Flow of Blood In a Single Direction

These parts all need to have what are known as heart valves whose main purpose is to control the flow of blood in a particular direction, and when any of these four sets of heart valves become damaged or are injured because of a congenital condition, the end result is heart valve disease. In fact, among the common heart valve diseases encountered two main reasons for it are leaking of the valves as well as stiffened heart valves.

It is also necessary to understand that when these valves get too damaged and when they are not treated in time, it could lead to heart valve disease, and if even the heart valve disease is not treated in time, heart attacks can occur and possibly even untimely death.

The causes of heart valve disease include using cocaine, amphetamines as well as methamphetamine and even the drug known as Ecstasy or other drugs and even overworking the heart can cause the condition. Sometimes, a heart valve disease can occur due to congenital abnormalities in which the patient is born with a defective heart which commonly is seen as a hole in the valve or other malformation of the heart valves.

Another reason why heart valve disease occurs is because the arteries or blood vessels can become too narrow and this in turn puts unwanted stress on the valves which could lead to their becoming damaged and thus results in consequent heart valve disease.

Treating a heart valve disease is not difficult and it only requires taking Niacin that can rectify most coronary heart disease, and Policosanol is also worth trying as well as it helps in containing the level of cholesterol and thus prevents arterial narrowing. Eating vegetables and fruits is also helpful since they contain a lot of natural antioxidants, and finally, you can also prevent heart valve disease by also making suitable changes to your lifestyle such as quitting smoking and consuming healthy foods as well as exercising regularly.
