Telling Signs
Most often than not, when you have a sinus infection, you immediately feel like you just want to stay in bed and recuperate because you feel like you do not have the energy to go about your daily routine. One of the many telling signs or symptoms of a sinus infection is that you feel exhausted or extremely tired like you are going to come down with the flu or a fever. Aside from that, one of the symptoms of a sinus infection is that you are coughing or sneezing time and again, making you more tired and achy.
However, these symptoms of a sinus infection, may mislead you to think that it is just one of those unlucky days that you are bound to have a fever and it would instantly be gone or prevented when you take acetaminophen or ibuprofen. But, alas, once you have taken the necessary medications for preventing the fever and flu, you only feel shoddier afterwards because your headache is worse than ever.
Besides having a headache that usually occurs the moment you have woken up, coughing or sneezing, and feeling weak or tired, another symptom of a sinus infection is that you should watch out for are watery eyes or the swelling of the eyelids. This is because of the inflammation that occurs around the eyes because our sinuses are placed near them. Another telling sign that could lead you to have a sinus infection is the ethmoid inflammation that causes you to have tenderness on the sides of your nose when it is touched. Loss of smell and runny or stuffy nose is also the effect of having an ethmoid inflammation when you have a sinus infection.
So watch out for these tell tale signs and give your doctor a call; treatments do exist and you can be on your road to recovery soon.
