<p>Many sleep experts recommend a combination of two strategies for maximum sleep enjoyment. First, go to bed when you&#8217;re tired and your body tells you to. Second, wake up at the same time every morning. When the alarm clock goes off, turn it off, stretch and get up. Don&#8217;t let your head start a conversation about sleeping in – get up and get moving.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re waking up groggy, consider purchasing these sleep-conducive items: An allergy-free mattress cover, heavy curtains or an eye mask to block out light, herbal teas and bubble bath to relax you before bed. Sounder sleep means less morning drowsiness.</p>
<p>If you need a cup of java first thing to shift you into high gear, program your automatic coffee maker to start brewing 10 minutes before your alarm clock. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee can help lure your out of that comfy nest.</p>
<p>Even if you never make it out to a yoga class, you can benefit from the energy released while stretching at home. Stretch your arms, wrists, toes, feet, ankles and legs for 15 minutes and the flow of blood and the extra shot of oxygen will get your joints jumping.</p>
<p>Whether you prefer rock, jazz, classical or hip-hop, music can make the difference between a lacklustre start to your day and a spirited one. Consider books-on-tape or motivational speaker CDs and enjoy the added benefit of a good story or encouraging word before you start your day.</p>
<p>Ask more from your anti-perspirant, body wash, beauty bar and shampoo. When you&#8217;re moisturizing, bathing and even applying deodorant choose products that are energizing or refresh the spirit. Experiment with mint, citrus, lemongrass and rosemary.</p>

<p>Anxiety is often caused by depression, panic disorder, post traumatic stress syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Anxiety and sleep disorders often go hand in hand because of the listed factors. People get anxious when they panic or they have g=just undergone a traumatic experience. They also get anxiety attacks when they can not stop thinking or worrying of several things.</p>
<p>Treatment of Anxiety and Sleep Disorders<br />

Anxiety and sleep disorders have remedies. Panic disorder can be treated with professional help. This kind of disorder can occur at night while you are sleeping and manifest itself as a pounding heart or a sense of panic. Some people appear disoriented when they awake. These can be remedied by making bedtime rituals and putting yourself in a relaxed mood before going to bed. It is also best to try and leave your worries behind and not dwell on them too much. This is one way of getting rid of anxiety and sleep disorders.</p>
<p>Trauma instigated by traumatic events can be overcome but the psychological help you will need must come from you and a professional. While undergoing professional help, you can help yourself by trying to come into terms with what happened and try to get your life back in your control. Anxiety and sleep disorders can be triggered by events that violate us and give us a sense that we are not in control of things.</p>
<p>Obsessive-Compulsive behavior can be a hindrance to a good sleep because the individual continually thinks there is something wrong with either the bed or the room and may even be under the impression that he is being watched. The compulsion that you need to do things like hide under the blankets all the time when you are in bed could upset your sleeping patterns because you are too w\aware of what is going on in your surroundings. Anxiety and sleep disorders can stem from the obsessive idea that if you sleep something bad will happen or someone might come into the room.</p>
<p>Another remedy that can help you start a good night’s sleep is to clear your head of anything pertaining to work and problems. Aromatherapy and massage can also help promote sleepiness.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Alcohol and insomnia can both cause problems in people&#8217;s lives both working together and apart.  Generally speaking, about one in every three people is affected by insomnia every year.  Many of these insomnia problems are reported by the elderly, due to the fact that sleep patterns change as we grow older.  Insomnia can also be affected by other things such as physical ailments and depression.</p>
<p>Types of Insomnia</p>
<p>There are a couple of different types of insomnia that are generally categorized by how long they last and how severe they are.  Temporary insomnia, which has a clear cause such as relocation is generally called transient.  Transient insomnia only lasts for a few nights.  Insomnia that last two to three weeks is called short-term insomnia.  This type of insomnia is generally caused by a problem or serious change in a person&#8217;s life.  Once the problem is resolved or enough time to put the situation behind the person has passed, this insomnia generally corrects itself.</p>
<p>The last type of insomnia is called chronic insomnia.  This type of insomnia can cause many different types of chronic problems and diseases.  This is because the fact that when a person is deprived of sleep over the course of several weeks or months, their immune system does not function properly, and they do not have a great deal of resistance to disease.</p>
<p>Common Causes of Insomnia</p>
<p>There are many different things that can cause insomnia.  Some of the most common causes of insomnia include stress, caffeine, long-lasting pain, alcohol, drugs, prescription medications, and poor sleep habits.  Many causes of insomnia are psychological, while the others are physical.  Some physical problems that cause insomnia are diabetes and any disorder or illness that causes chronic pain.</p>
<p>Many types of insomnia are actually preventable, even if they are chronic.  One of the most preventable is the use of alcohol.  But many alcoholics will say that alcohol actually helps him sleep, it is actually impeding their rest.  This is due to the fact that first of all, alcohol acts as a stimulant on the body in addition to being a depressant.  Having any stimulant in one&#8217;s body while trying to sleep can make it very difficult for them to sleep.  Insomnia and alcohol are very much related and can cause many problems.  Anyone that drinks excessive amounts of alcohol and has insomnia should realize that they are probably related.</p>
<p>Similar to insomnia and alcohol, insomnia and drug use are also related.  This should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with stimulant type drugs. However, not all causes of insomnia are alcohol or drug related. </p>

<p>The same study shows that ADHD sleep disorders rank among the top ten cause why some people cannot sleep at night. Some people with ADHD sleep disorders stay awake in bed for around two to three hours before they finally get some sleep. In most cases, the stress of not being able to sleep right away trigger other forms of psychological and physiological imbalance in the person that he or she becomes prone to depression and other forms of mental problems.<br />

Although scientists and researchers are still conducting further studies into the causes of ADHD sleep disorder and there are still no concrete scientific explanations as to what causes this type of behavioral disorder, some experts believe that ADHD sleep disorder may be attributed to the diet and the heredity of the person. According to some experts, food that contains preservatives and synthetic additives may cause some side effects in our bodies such as hyperactivity especially in children and some young adults.</p>
<p>Dealing With ADHD Sleep Disorder</p>
<p>If your child is having difficulty focusing on his or her task and he or she is having so much trouble getting some sleep, it would be better for you to consult your doctor. Do not just assume that your child has ADHD sleep disorder if you can’t sleep. According to studies, ADHD is not the only cause for lack of sleep, so do not jump into conclusions right away and request for some tests.</p>
<p>Always remember that insomnia is a complex thing and may be caused by a combination of factors. The only way to determine the factors that caused insomnia in your child is to consult a doctor who is specializing in sleep disorders.</p>
<p>If the results of the tests performed by the doctor say that you child is indeed suffering from ADHD sleep disorder, discuss the different forms of treatments with your doctor first to make sure that your child is getting the best from of treatment. Some doctors may recommend some drugs to help your child.</p>
<p>If your doctor recommends the use of drugs to help your child, discuss with the doctor the possible side effects that these drugs have on your child. You need to make sure that these drugs will not cause more harm than good on the health of your child.</p>
<p>Ask your doctor how you can help your child relax and focus on his or her tasks. Note that as a parent, you are in the best position to help your child go through this situation and find solutions to the problem.</p>

<p>People need to sleep in order to recharge the energy they have used up during their waking hours. Having anxiety sleep disorder disturbs the usual sleeping pattern of individuals and causes lapses in judgment and concentration which can be fatal in some cases. The lack of sleep often goes against our desire to do things which brings to mind the saying that the mind is willing but the body can not.</p>
<p>These types of sleeping disorders are usually caused by too much worrying and thinking about things. Some worriers often suffer from anxiety during sleeping because their subconscious has been preoccupied by their worries that it manifests itself in their sleep as nightmares and other disorders.</p>

Exercise can also help to get rid of sleep disorders because it promotes proper blood circulation and helps to use up excess energy which may cause sleeplessness. Using up our excess energy is a good form of keeping fit and trim.</p>

While everyone understands and recognizes insomnia when they are afflicted by it, they may not understand the root cause. This is a critical point to mention because if one understands the root cause of insomnia then one will be able to effectively deal with finding a cure for the condition.</p>
<p>For example, if one is exercising late at night or is eating a diet high in sugar content or drinking liquids that have a higher caffeine content the elimination of these items will reduce the insomnia. In fact, they may very well eliminate the insomnia altogether. One such link between a product and insomnia exists between birth control pills and insomnia.</p>
<p>Examining Birth Control Pills and Insomnia</p>
<p>The link between birth control pills and insomnia is somewhat unique. Like any other medication, birth control pills may have unexpected side effects. One such side effect can be the aforementioned condition of insomnia. Of course, that leads to the obvious point: if birth control pills can cause insomnia then what can an individual do to avoid the problems of insomnia if the person is regularly taking birth control pills.</p>
<p>Probably the ‘easiest’ way of dealing with problems associated with birth control pills and insomnia would be to simply switch to a different form of birth control. It would go without saying that if you eliminate the root cause of the insomnia, the insomnia will go away. Then again, there are those individuals who would prefer not to eliminate their primary method of birth control. And, in honesty, it may not even be necessary.</p>
<p>If a problem does exist where birth control pills and insomnia are seemingly going hand in hand, it would be best to immediately discuss the problem with your primary care physician. Far too often, when people undergo problems with a prescription or medication they may be taking they will neglect to inform their doctor of the problem. In some cases, this is because people sometimes do not make the connection between a pill they may be taking and its resulting side effects.</p>
<p>They may believe the side effects are the result of something entirely different and, in some instances, they may be right. However, it would be best to play it safe and inform a physician of any noticeable side effects that seemingly manifest after taking the pill. In short, be alert to what you body is telling you and take proper action.</p>

It can be caused by many factors, most of which are stress, anxiety, medication and other disorders that may affect your sleep. Over the years, researchers have developed several cures for insomnia. Some of these are medication which needs regular use until the disorder is cleared. Others have also developed alternative treatments that have been known to clear the sleep disorder. These alternative cures for insomnia may be effective for some while others are not affected at all.</p>
<p>Several Alternative Cures for Insomnia</p>
<p>Aromatherapy is said to soothe people’s minds and promote a sense of relaxation and well being that can cause sleepiness or a mellowness that can be a prelude to sleep. Of all the alternative cures for insomnia, aromatherapy is the broadest in the sense that everybody uses it and not for the dame reason. The more common scents that are said to promote sleep and relaxation are lavender, ylang-ylang, Benzoin, Jasmine, Lemon balm or Melissa, Neroli, Rose, sandalwood and Sweet Marjoram. These can be used in candle burners or just a few drops in your pillow or sleeping clothes can have the desired effect.</p>
<p>Massage is also one of the cures for insomnia that are not exclusively just for insomnia sufferers. Massage can relieve stress and other body pains that may plague the person. Some massages involve the use of essential oils which serves as aromatherapy at the same time. This is one of the cures for insomnia that is very popular and very relaxing.</p>
<p>Other cures for insomnia that are herbal based and those that involved here are scented herbal hot baths, herbal teas, tinctures an herbal essential oils for aromatherapy or massage. Herbal cures have been around for centuries and many of these have been the basis for research regarding medicine or drugs that are used today.</p>
<p>More ways to help you overcome insomnia are mindset that includes thinking of the bed as somewhere to sleep not a place to do work or eat. Other cures for insomnia, include eating a light meal instead of a heavy one that could make you uncomfortable, avoid drinking caffeine laden beverages and foods, exercising at least 15 – 30 minutes per day could stimulate proper blood circulation and promote better sleeping habits and a glass of warm milk can boost serotonin levels in the brain and stimulate drowsiness.</p>
<p>These are just a few of the alternative cures for insomnia that are available. Some of these may work for some people and others may not. It is always the preference of the individual which way he chooses to cure his insomnia.</p>
