All countries in the world need flu vaccine shots to fight the deadly influenza virus. It is necessary to protect yourself from flu outbreaks especially during cold or rainy season such as the months of November and December. Before you decide on a shot, you have to consider its costs first. You have to ask and canvass for the prices so that you can be financially prepared. The flu vaccine costs you a little of your money; but it can save you from trouble especially when an unexpected outbreak happens.

Does The Flu Vaccine Cost The Same Around The Globe?

The flu vaccine cost is different for every country. Usually, these vaccines are sold for ten to fifty dollars. If it will goes higher than fifty dollars, then that will be quite an expensive shot already. The prices are also much cheaper if you buy them directly from pharmaceutical companies. You can buy the shots for as low as three dollars. Wherever you choose to buy, make sure that the vaccine is potent and proper storage should be implemented to assure that it is going to produce good effects.

The Reason For The Shortage Is The Flu Vaccine Cost

The flu vaccine cost is probably the main reason why the world is experiencing a shortage of these immunizations. Since the cost is relatively low, the pharmaceutical companies usually do not have much to gain. That is why, the prices should be regulated and controlled properly so that production will increase and the shortage can be filled.

Cheapest Centers Where You Can Get Your Shot

Generally, you can obtain a lower flu vaccine cost if you purchase it in any of the following settings such as health care settings, pharmaceutical laboratories, some supermarkets and other community groups. However, you should always try to observe if these vaccines are stored properly. If you buy it at a lower cost but it has lost its potency because of the storage means, then you are wasting your money, because the shot will not really work. Regardless of the flu vaccine cost, you should think first of the quality of the item that you are buying.

What The Government Can Do About Flu Vaccine Cost

To lift the shortage problems that the world is presently experiencing, the government needs to raise the flu vaccine cost. If agreed upon, the pharmaceutical companies will increase their production rate. Aside from this, the administration can build more government-owned pharmacies in order to suffice the needed supply of flu vaccines.

The CDC is mercifully short for the Center of Disease Control and Protection, which is a part of the US Department of Health and Human Services. Although an under-funded and often insulted government agency, the CDC pandemic flu information is accurate and helpful. It also doesn’t pander to any political paranoia by suggesting a pandemic as bad or worse than the one in 1918, even though it could get more money if it did.

Congestion Galore

Through education and helpful suggestions, the CDC pandemic flu information available on its several websites is jargon-filled, but still understandable to the layperson (although you may need to Google a lot of terms and take an Excedrin). CDC pandemic flu information includes basic information (like what makes a pandemic flu different from other kinds of flu) to the very obscure (such as what countries have a human bird flu case today). It also includes a lot of details on influenza treatment.

For Practical Purposes

We know a lot more today about how infections and flu spreads than in 1918, when the last great pandemic took place. We also have a lot more drugs and a better health care system. Not only that, we know some personal hygiene practices to help reduce our chances of becoming part of a pandemic flu.

The CDC pandemic flu information helps the average person feel that they are not helpless pawns of fate, but can take matters into their own hands – literally. CDC pandemic flu information recommends frequent hand washings in order to help stop the spread of a flu virus. They also encourage employers and schools to send home obviously ill employees and students.

And, most importantly, the CDC influenza flu information reveals that if you are living a healthy lifestyle, then your odds of getting any kind of flu – let alone that of a pandemic – are very slim. Eating a sensible, well-balanced diet, exercising regularly, not smoking and getting at least six hours of sleep a night helps keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

These are things you are supposed to be doing anyway. They can help you keep weight off, make your heart healthier, help reduce your risks of getting diabetes Type 2 and help reduce arthritis pain. Those are just some of the reasons why you should be eating a sensible diet and exercise regularly. Now you can add that it’s the CDC pandemic flu recommended way to save yourself from the plague.

This will also help you to understand how pandemic influenza is spread and can affect a whole lot of people in one country and even around the world.

How Influenza Virus Structure Attacks

When the influenza virus structure enters your body, it first attaches to one of your healthy cells. The cell then takes in the virus. As the virus moves toward the center of the cell, or the nucleus, it is copying genetic information to and from the cell. Once the viral particle reaches the nucleus, it begins to create new particles. These new particle rise to the surface of the cell and collect there. Once the influenza virus structure is strong on the surface of the cell, a viral particle will detach from the influenza virus structure and begin to move on to the rest of the body’s healthy cells. The life cycle of the influenza virus structure works quickly and this is why symptoms for the flu usually come on suddenly.

Symptoms of the flu include a high fever, headache, sore throat, dry cough, body aches and fatigue. Once the onset of symptoms are present, you will want to seek medical attention within forty-eight hours in order to be able to get an antiviral medication in order to combat the flu.

The best prevention for the flu is to get your annual flu shot and to also practice common sense. Make sure to cover your mouth with your hands when you cough or sneeze. Also if you use a tissue, make sure to throw it away when you are done with it. Hand sanitizers work well when you cannot get to a sink to wash your hands. During the flu season, it is best to wash your hands whenever you come into contact with a person or surface that might have germs and viruses lurking there.

If you do come down with flu symptoms, you will want to stay away from anyone who has not has their flu shot. Also, you will want to make sure to avoid those who have a higher risk of complications from having the flu, including those over the age of 65, pregnant women, young children and others who have medical conditions that could be complicated by the onset of the flu.

Haemophilus influenza symptoms are not new in our world. Some time ago, the disease was considered to be incurable. But as time evolved, several therapies are given to treat it and prevent it from occurring. Knowing about these symptoms is essential for the proper treatment of the disease. If you are equipped with knowledge about the disease, you will be guided accordingly in the treatment process.

What Are The Common Haemophilus Influenza Symptoms?

There are several haemophilus influenza symptoms, and these include a stiff neck, vomiting, cough, chills and fever, breathing difficulties, green phlegm expectoration and, in some cases, chest pains. There can also be sore throat and dry mouth, headaches and body fatigue. If you happen to experience any of these, it would be best to seek help from your doctor.

How Soon Do Haemophilus Influenza Symptoms Appear?

The haemophilus influenza symptoms usually have an incubation period of two to four days. This means that if you get infected with it, the disease will appear symptomatically after two to four days from exposure. Initially, the indicators presented will come in the early and late stage of influenza. The early phase usually lasts a short period of time while the late stage has increased duration periods. Whichever stage a person is in, treatment from a health professional is very necessary.

How Are Haemophilus Influenza Symptoms Diagnosed?

Haemophilus influenza symptoms are detected and diagnosed by your doctors in three different ways. First, a doctor can name influenza as a diagnosis by means of symptoms. If you present with all the needed definitive symptoms of influenza, then you can be diagnosed of having such. Second, the doctor can ask for blood tests to determine the type of viral strain that you have. Lastly and most accurately, the doctor can point out influenza through a spinal fluid analysis. In milder forms, the physician usually does the diagnosis through identification of symptoms. In severe cases, a blood test and spinal fluid analysis will be required.

What Are The Treatments For Haemophilus Influenza Symptoms?

Haemophilus influenza symptoms can be prevented and treated. As a prevention method, you need to be immunized with influenza vaccine. The shots are done annually and should be complied with regularly. After infection, treatment will include symptomatic relief, home remedies, and anti viral medications from the licensed physicians. If spotted at an early time, haemophilus influenza can easily be avoided.

Getting reliable pandemic flu information is a little like trying to find an honest used car salesman, but it can be done. Ultimately, the person who decides what is the best pandemic flu information is yourself. But you need to give your common sense some reign over any fear or speculation you may have. You need to go to news services, medical services and the CDC pandemic flu web sites in order to get the latest and least biased pandemic flu information.

Places To Ignore

You can make your life a lot easier by ignoring some sources of pandemic flu information that claim to know what they are talking about and authoritative. They are usually just scare tactics to sell papers or to grab public funds. You also want to ignore any pandemic flu information from any source that has gained a lot of money in the past three years from Bush’s 2005 bird flu plan.

In short, you should ignore pandemic flu information from:

Politicians
Sensational press, like tabloids
Fictional stories or movies
Pharmaceutical companies
Your drinking buddy

Center For Disease Control And Prevention

The CDC has a through and attractive website devoted to pandemic flu information with frequent updates and chronicles of past pandemics. The website is http://www.pandemicflu.gov. Although a government agency which interacts with politicians, dicey journalists and pharmaceutical companies, the CDC is a sober agency that sends out reliable information in a calm manner.

Another of the best reasons to go to the website is to find out about the Great Pandemic of 1918. This killed more people than World War I. However, there weren’t any of the medicines, highway infrastructure or knowledge of how flu works in 1918. There also weren’t the strict hygiene practices that happen in hospitals today. Just looking into this branch of pandemic flu information should help you realize that the possibility of another pandemic isn’t so scary after all.

And take a look at the today’s headlines. If there isn’t anything concrete about recent outbreaks that may signal a pandemic, then you know right away that a pandemic isn’t going to happen in your near future … although you may want to check your horoscope to be doubly sure.

Besides, the odds are that you have survived many outbreaks of influenza that spread around the world. Even if no one died, these can be called pandemics. If you were alive during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, most of the world was gripped with the Nagano flu. And we all survived. We lost a lot of weight through dehydration, but we survived.

An Explanation

The influenza virus life cycle is complicated process of viruses and cells exchanging particles and budding into a growing virus from those cells. The short explanation of the influenza virus life cycle is that the virus enters the body and the virus particle lands on the cell surface. Once the virus particle lands on the surface, it is taken inside the cell where the virus releases genetic information into the cell and begins to move toward the cell’s nucleus. The influenza virus life cycle continues into the nucleus where the viral genes are producing new viral components. The components of the influenza virus structure collect at the cell surface and begin to form into new particles. The new particles leave the cell surface and attach on another healthy cell in order to infect the rest of the cells.

The influenza virus life cycle is a complicated process that happens at the cellular level. Once the virus particles begin to multiply in your cells, you will then begin feeling the symptoms of the virus. The symptoms will begin to appear quickly in your body, starting with a fever, body aches, headaches, fatigue and a dry cough or sore throat. Anyone suffering with the flu should monitor their temperature and make sure that proper measures are taken if the fever reaches up to 104 F or more. Otherwise healthy adults may experience a lower fever than the elderly and young children.

Prevention

You can help prevent the flu by getting your annual flu shot. This will prevent you from contracting many strains of the virus, although you may be susceptible to newer strains that develop after the flu shot has been administered. Your doctor can explain to you how effective the flu shot is each year. Remember not to skip a year either just because it didn’t work the year before from preventing the flu.

You will also want to take precautions around those who are at risk for complication if you yourself contract the flu. Make sure to use common sense and do not share utensils, glasses and don’t sneeze or cough without your hand covering your mouth. Prevention is the key to staying healthy and keeping those at risk safe.

All people, young and old, commonly experience haemophilus influenza symptoms. A person has to know about the symptoms very well so that the illness can be handled accordingly. If one is knowledgeable enough of the influenza virus symptoms, he can immediately bring the case to the doctor and ask for professional help. If you are well informed about the disease, it will be easier to manage it and the doctor’s instructions will be much simpler to understand.

When Do Influenza Virus Symptoms Appear?

The influenza virus symptoms appear all year round. These indicators should be expected in every country. However, the most affected areas are the ones that experience a colder climate. This is because the virus is predominant and thrives well in a cool environment. Before the winter season comes most people get flu shots, which are given annually to prevent the influenza virus symptoms from occurring. In hot areas, the influenza virus symptoms are to be expected as well. To prevent disease occurrence, one must have a healthy immune system.

How Long Do Influenza Virus Symptoms Last?

The influenza virus symptoms usually last from days to weeks depending on the type of strain that infected you. If it is the regular haemophilus viral strain, you can expect it to last for three days. But if you are diagnosed with severe forms of the strain such as the H5N1 virus, you can expect it to last for weeks.

The indicators include fever which reaches up to 106F, body fatigue and exhaustion, sore throat or dry mouth, mild to severe headaches, stuffy nose and swelling of the eyes. As the fever goes away, the other symptoms usually tend to worsen. If proper treatment is given, you can expect the symptoms to be relieved somewhat.

Management Of Influenza Virus Symptoms

The influenza virus symptoms have three different management types. For milder cases, you can treat influenza through home remedies and other symptomatic treatment. This includes bed rest, increased water intake, ingestion of citrus fruits and juices and self-help medications such as analgesics and other anti-inflammatory drugs. In severe cases, you should consult a doctor and ask for the proper treatment. Hospitalization may be required. The doctor will most often suggest anti viral medications that should be taken for a few weeks. If all these treatment regimens are followed, you will be guaranteed a safe comeback from the influenza disease.

One such event is the Spanish flu pandemic, which history has shown is the worst pandemic ever. With this status, the 1918 flu pandemic trumps the Bubonic Plague of the 1300s and the Yellow Fever epidemic of the 1700s, which alludes to the pandemic’s severity. Though there are few remaining survivors of the pandemic today, people look back on it as one historic event that nobody cares to repeat.

Misleading Origins

Though everyone throughout the history of the twentieth century has referred to the pandemic as the Spanish flu. The flu pandemic of 1918 did not actually begin in Spain. In fact, it is thought to have started in Fort Reilly, Kansas in the United States. The reason the outbreak was deemed by history as the Spanish Flu was because Spain is thought to be the country most affected by it.

The Spanish Flu, according to history books, spread rapidly. It was one of the quickest spreading diseases in history. Perhaps the reason it was able to affect so many people so quickly was due to World War I. Because the war was happening at that time, soldiers from various countries easily came into contact with one another. Likewise, Spain did not participate in the war and was unaware of the disease until it was too late.

A Long Lasting Legacy

The greatest number of deaths in pandemic history were caused by the Spanish Flu. It is estimated that around the world, somewhere between 50 and 100 million people died in a mere 18 months. This means that about 5% of the world’s population died of influenza.

Science Speaks

The Spanish Flu was unique in that it mostly affected people between the ages of 16 and 40, rather than the very young and the very old. This has led scientists to argue that the reason the death tolls were so high was due to a very rare occurrence in history—a cytokine storm. This is when the immune system over reacts to an outside presence, and ends up causing excess cell presence and the build up of tissues.

A Historical Appreciation

Due to modern medicine, it is difficult for people these days to understand the trauma and fear that people went through during the entire history of the Spanish Flu. However, knowing this history allows people to better appreciate these modern medical marvels.

Is there any practical pandemic influenza planning that you can do to protect yourself and you family from a sudden and incredibly contagious illness, such an ebola virus or the bird flu? Well, the first thing you can do is stop worrying about it. The odds of a pandemic happening anywhere in the world, let alone Europe or North America, are less than you dying in your bathroom. If you need proof, check out a study done by MIT scientists that came out in April, 2008 “American Journal of Public Health”.

Emergencies Happen

However, just because you can go lax on pandemic influenza planning, doesn’t mean that you are safe and sound from any other emergencies. Some health agencies, emergency services and highway managers have praised Bush’s 2005 bird flu protection plan – even though bird flu has turned out to be less threatening than getting killed in an aardvark stampede. This helped the country to think of getting help and aid to all of its citizens whenever a disaster strikes.

Stock Those Shelves

Pandemic influenza planning can be seen as emergency planning. For yourself and you family, you should always have some things on hand, just in case. These include:

A few days worth of fresh water for you and your pets
Extra flashlight and batteries
Battery-powered radio
First aid kit
A week’s worth of tinned food for you and your pets

In this way, you can at least hole up in your house (or what’s left of it) and wait for emergency services to arrive. In the pandemic influenza planning proposals, your home may be quarantined, which is another reason you would need the stockpile of food and water.

Turn Your Head And Cough

If you are wondering about pandemic influenza planning in your area, be sure to look it up on the web. Chances are, there won’t be anything you don’t already know. Medical experts who study pandemic flu information advise people that the best way to combat any strain of sickness is with frequent hand washing, drinking plenty of fluids, not smoking and being generally in good health.
Other tips include always covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze, try to stay away from sick people and getting enough sleep. Just getting enough sleep can insure that your body has the strength to fight an invading cell. By practicing a good diet, exercise and hygiene, you are already pandemic influenza planning.

Those who should be concerned are parents with young infants, pregnant women, those over 65 years of age and those who will be more susceptible to complications from having contracted an influenza virus infection. It is important that those most at risk avoid contracting the flu at all costs because these are the groups with the highest flu related deaths each flu season.

Learning To Help Prevent Infection

Most people know the most common ways you can prevent yourself from getting an influenza virus infection. They know that the first line defense is to get your annual flu shot. And not just for one person, but every person that you live with. This way, all of you will be protected from brining home the influenza virus infection to someone else living in your house. Since the influenza virus life cycle is longer than some other viruses, you will want to keep minimal contact with a person suffering from an influenza virus infection, especially if they have already had their flu shot. In that case, it is probably a strain of an influenza virus infection that was not covered by the flu shot that year and you will be able to contract it.

Other precautions that you will want to take, especially out in public, is to always remember to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. This will help in general from the spreading of germs to yourself or to others. Make sure that if you are around people who are sick or say that they don’t feel well. You will want to wash you hands often and avoid sharing cups, plates and utensils with people who are sick or think that they are getting sick.

Another way that you can prevent from spreading an influenza virus infection is if you are coming down with the flu, you will need to avoid all of the groups that are most at risk for complications from contracting an influenza virus infection. You will want to especially those who are over 65 years of age. This is the group most at risk for complications and possible death due to the contraction of an influenza virus infection.

The most important thing to remember is to get your flu shot every year in order to help prevent the spread of the flu keep those at risk safe from contracting it.
