Constipation is a disorder that affects our bowel movement making it irregular.</p>
<p>Most of us will have one bowel movement a day however, that is not standard and usually if you have at least three a week you are considered regular. However, any less than that and you may be experiencing constipation. Here are some common symptoms of constipation and some easy treatments that can bring you fast relief.</p>
<p><strong>General Symptoms Of Constipation</strong></p>
<p>Bloating is caused by many factors and usually a common state in women during their menstrual cycle. However, when the bloating is combined with nausea, vomiting, hard and dry stool that you have difficulty and pain when passing, you may be having the classic symptoms of constipation.</p>
<p>If you are not sure about the symptoms of constipation try and monitor your stool cycle for the next week as well as your diet and water intake.</p>
<p><strong>Common Cause Of Constipation</strong></p>
<p>If the symptoms of constipation are not clear and/or you are experiencing problems with your stool during your period, which you cannot determine if you are constipated or not, try and think back what you have been eating for the past week as well as what you have been drinking. <p>Decreasing the amount of fat in the diet is important for those suffering from constipation. These fats could be in the form of meat, eggs and cheeses.  People should look at the labels and study the types of fat that they are eating.  Some people suffer constipation because of pregnancy.  There are many factors to consider when constipation occurs because of pregnancy so these women should consult with their physicians for a solution.  Their diets may be the cause, but the physician will consider all factors for relieving constipation while pregnant. </p>
<p><strong>Doctors Advise Steps to Relieving Constipation</strong></p>
<p>Some people suffer from constipation because they live a sedentary lifestyle.  This can be a difficult situation if these people are sedentary because their job requires sitting at a desk for many hours during the day.  These people should try to add physical activity as a means of relieving constipation before or after working hours.  These people should try relieving constipation by some physical activity on the weekends.  These people might end up drinking too much coffee as they sit at their desks doing their work, and coffee in excess can contribute to constipation.  These people can try relieving constipation by decreasing the amount of coffee that they drink.</p>

<p>Other common causes of constipation are traveling, which implies different time zones, diet change and probably dehydration, stress, which also directly affects your appetite and therefore your bowel movement and/or an existing medical condition, which requires drugs that may alter your bowel movement.</p>

<p>Exercise and drink plenty of water everyday to help regulate your bowel movements and/or treat constipation however, if the constipation persists for more then a week see your doctor for a detailed examination and treatment.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One frustration that new mothers feel is the inability of a baby to complain about their aches and pains.  Later in life, a mother may wish that her children could not complain about their aches and pains, but when they are babies this can cause confusion.  When a baby cries, one can assume that they are uncomfortable or unhappy.  Baby constipation might be one of the reasons for a crying baby, but this is not readily known.  Baby constipation is hard to determine because babies do not always work on a schedule, and their bowel movements can be highly erratic. </p>
<p>Babies are like adults in that their bowel movements are related to what they eat and how much they move.  Parents should know that there are some signs of baby constipation that will reduce the guessing game when the baby cries.  Baby constipation may be a problem if the baby goes more than a couple of days without a bowel movement.  The consistency of the stool from the baby maybe a sign of baby constipation.  Sometimes a liquid stool in a baby’s diaper could be a sign of baby constipation.  Parents should look for these signs as information that the baby cannot provide.</p>
<p><strong>Baby Constipation Occurs for Different Reasons</strong></p>
<p>Breastfeeding is one way to avoid baby constipation for this usually eliminates this problem.  The breast milk has the perfect balance for a baby’s system.  The baby formula could be a reason for baby constipation.  A baby that is constipated because of a certain type of formula should be put on a different formula.  A doctor will be able to recommend a different brand to eliminate the problem.  Baby constipation sometimes occurs when the baby starts to eat solid food.  Some of the baby foods that are used for the first solid foods do not have sufficient fiber. </p>
<p>Baby constipation may occur because the baby is dehydrated so the baby should be given more fluids.  The baby might become constipated due to an underlying medical condition.  The baby should be checked carefully by a doctor if the constipation seems to continue for a couple of days.  Movement can help to eliminate constipation in a young baby.  Crawlers should be encouraged to crawl more.  Systematic massage of the belly of the baby can eliminate the problem.  A mother should get directions for this massage from baby books.   </p>

The stool will become hard and painful to pass, and the cycle will simply begin repeating itself over and over again. It is important for a parent to gain control of the situation as quickly as possible so that the child will willingly sit on the toilet and the stools will soften and become less painful to pass. This can be done both through diet and behavior modification.</p>
<p><strong>Dietary Changes to treat your Child’s Constipation</strong></p>
<p>The first course of action in treating your child’s constipation is to modify his diet to include more fiber and cut back on foods that create constipation. High fiber foods include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially corn, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and peas. You can also increase the fiber in your child’s diet by offering a large selection of whole grain cereals and cereal bars, graham crackers and whole wheat bread. Increase fluids that your child is drinking by offering additional helping of juices and water. Vegetable soup will give your child a double dose of constipation treatment, with a large serving of vegetables as well as an extra serving of fluids.</p>
<p>While you are increasing the fiber intake in your child’s diet, cut back on the foods that are known to cause constipation. These can include milk products like yogurt and cheese, and some fruits and vegetables like cooked carrots or bananas. If you are concerned that milk might be contributing to your child’s constipation, talk to your doctor before taking your child off of milk entirely. There are many nutrients in milk that a child’s growing body needs, and if you decide that he must refrain from milk entirely, he will need to get those nutrients from other foods and supplements.</p>
<p><strong>Behavior Changes to treat your Child’s Constipation</strong></p>
<p>Another method for treating constipation in children is behavior modification that gently encourages your child to use the toilet regularly. This can include putting your child on the toilet for ten minutes after meals twice a day, when the bowels are primed for the elimination function. You can also offer reward incentives to your child for successfully going to the bathroom, like offering stickers after using the toilet. To take the fear of hard stools away from your child, your doctor may suggest or prescribe a stool softener that will make it easier for your little one to go to the bathroom without pain.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people suffer tremendous pain in their lower back and this pain may stem from a variety of reasons.  No matter what the cause of the lower back pain, constipation often results as of the reasons lower back pain may cause constipation is that there is decreased mobility.  A person with lower back pain may not be moving around as much, causing a decrease in circulation and body functions, which often causes constipation.</p>
<p>A person with lower back pain needs to try and walk as much as physically possible and recommended by their physician. Walking will not only help the constipation issue but may help relieve the back pain depending on its cause.  Decreased mobility may also result in a person being unable to sit on the toilet as sometimes sitting causes increased lower back pain.  This will ultimately affect the bowel routine of a person and causes constipation.</p>
<p>A person finding this to be true should speak to their physician about stool softeners or laxatives that will allow the bowel movement to be accomplished without sitting and straining on the toilet.  Lower back pain and constipation may be the result of nerve injury.</p>
<p><strong>Nerves Affecting Lower Back Pain And Constipation</strong></p>
<p>When a person has lower back pain it is often caused by a disc problem in the spine such as a disc may bulge out of place on the spine or a disc may rupture.  When this occurs a nerve may be compressed or injured and the nerves in the lower back are directly related to the lower extremities and lower body functions such as bowel and bladder function. </p>
<p>If there is a disc injury in the lower spine a person will most likely suffer lower back pain and constipation along with leg problems and possibly bladder problems.  The way to relieve all the symptoms is for the disc problem to be corrected sometimes with medications and physical therapy.  Sometimes a disc problem requires surgical intervention. </p>
<p>While the lower back problems are being addressed, it will be important for both the lower back pain and the constipation to be addressed.  Special care will have to be taken so that the pain relief measures do not compound the constipation.  Constipation can become a very serious problem even life threatening if not relieved.  A physician can prescribe medications to treat the constipation until the cause of the lower back pain can be diagnosed and treated.</p>
